a few things...........

(started this a week ago, finally finishing now! sorry, blogger wasn't let me post pictures, and a baby blog with no pictures is not a good thing)

being a mom of an almost 8 month old baby, being sick, and having a husband who's away for the weekend fishing- not exactly the best match. AND, even though jessica has been sleeping till 8 (after going back to sleep after her 5:30am feeding) for the past few days, including today- she still decided to get up at 6:45am on both days of this weekend, when mommy was sick and daddy was gone. good times..............

just an fyi for all you readers out there.

jessica's been a busy girl recently. her most recent has been trying to bite mommy while nursing her- with no teeth. and it still hurts! dont' know what i'm going to do when she finally gets teeth. for now i kinda yelp, tell her no, and put her down, then feel so incredible guilty as she cries (she has the saddest sad face ever, and i know, cause i've seen a lot) so i end up picking her up again.

(which, after two times getting in trouble, and one time getting "warned" she hasnt' done since. and just in time- cause i think i see a tooth sproutin!)

she's also went on her first (of many to come i'm sure) fieldtrip to the firestation! and she loved the firemen. i don't blame her- they were cute!

her hair is finally getting thick enough, i can clip bows in it!!!!! woot woot!!!

she woke up from a nap looking like this. yeah- i'd be sad too if my hair was sticking up like a parrot!!! (and see what i mean about the saddest sad face EVER???)

and blogger is being stupid again and not letting me post more pictures. bummer.

Seven Months

Yep- getting closer and closer to that first birthday! (look at those long legs!!!)

At Seven months Jessica is:

-Still scooting, and starting to push up to her knees to crawl

-Trying to pretend to pull herself up on furniture

-Her fieet are so tiny, i'm worried that they won't ever be able to bear her weight when she's learning to walk

-Responding to her name- and she recognizes "mommy" "rubberducky" and a few other random words

-babbling sooooooooooooooo much!!!!!! its hysterical to listen to. and she finally said mama!!!! (not to me of course, but she said it)

-loves sunglasses (she played with mine for seriously a half hour once. seriously) shoes, and the phone. can we say girly girl?

-starting to get the mommies again. this time for reals.

-bedtime is between 5:30 and 6 pm- sleeps strait till 5:30am, eats, and sleeps again for another hour or two.

-still taking 3 naps a day (the other day she took FOUR!!!), somtimes for as short as a half hour, occasionally we get a 2 or two and a half hour nap in. those are nice

-eats more for breakfast than for dinner, and she now prefers fruit over veggies (introducing veggies first is pointless)

-still exclusively breastfed.

-had her first bout of thrush. not very fun. then she had a mysterious low grade fever for a few days. no idea why

-still no teeth!!!!! i swear, she's been teething since two month. she must have some big ole toofers comin in!

-likes tv. so bad, i know. i don't put her in front of it, but if its on she strains to see what is going on

-gets bored with mom and dad on the weekend. so we have to entertain her (i've learned that being a mom also means being a one-woman show, including song and dance)

- loves to go grocery shopping

-sucks on her toes

-pulls down her bumper so that shes can see if we're coming down the hall- and then she yells at us if we aren't

-rolls around when we try to change her diaper

-her hair is coming in thicker, a gorgeous honey/gold/redish color. which surprised me, i thought it would be white blond. and its looking pretty strait..... still can't put clips in it though

-still loves to laugh and smile and loves when her mama dances.

-loved by mama and daddy sooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!

i promise i'll try to be better this month with posting pictures. i may even do some posts with out *GASP* pictures! just to keep y'all update. august was kinda a crazy month for me.......
