JESSICAS FIRST PLANE TRIP

Yep- and it actually went pretty well. The way home was awesome- we left at 6pm (her bedtime) and she fell asleep in have sling- the only way she sleeps besides in her crib- and she stayed asleep all the way home! Through Denver airport, on and off the planes, it was great. Anyawys, we went to Iowa to see my parents and have her meet all my cousins by the dozens.
First, a picture of her in the airport on the way to Iowa. We didn't take a picture on the plane because we're kinda squished in their with all sorts of her baby stuff, my stuff and steve's stuff- dind't really feel like digging through to bust out my huge Digi Rebel. It probably wouldn't have fit in between all three of us in two seats anyways.

We get to Iowa, and can I tell you how spoiled this little girl is? Not only did my parents buy her an excersauser and play mat, the also gave us their room to sleep in!!!! (Because, according to my Dad, its the quietest room in the house). Yeah, look at them just oogling over her when we got home (oh- and she was SO the first person they hugged and kissed when we got there!)
She loved Uncle Chris. Especially his go- tee (i know thats not how you spell it, but you know what i mean). She digs facial hair. Here he is being goofy with her. Usually he would do that fake laugh and she would laugh. This picture she's just looking like she thinks he's crazy.......

SHe also got to meet her Great Grandma and Grandpa Adams. Great Grand child number 14!
(a rare picture taken with Great Grandpa Adams. He rarely holds babies anymore. Woo HOO!!!)

Here she is playing in her new excersauser. Spoiled baby girl. But a cute one at that!

She also met her Great Grandma Thompson. She's great grandchild number 4, and the first Great Granddaughter!!!!
Here's a picture of four generations of women!!! We took the same picture with my great grandma and grandma thompson when i was just a bit older than jessica. so cool! she has now met all but one of her living great grandparents- what a lucky baby!

So my dad planned a huge party to celebrate my brother Chris graduating college, brother Greg turning 21, my dad turning 60, Jessica being in Iowa, and all the other birthdays and celebrations that were going on. So here's our little family portrait
At this party Jessica got to meet her "twin" cousin, Nina Caroline! My cousin Molly delivered her- also naturally- just 30 minutes after I had Jessica! Crazy.................

Nina is so cute. She's very petite and precious, and jessica outweighs her by like 3 pounds......
THey had fun looking at each other for awhile, then they were over . But i'm so excited to watch the two of them grow up together! so fun
Uncle Greg loved her too, even though he pretended it was no big deal. Awww, so cute, him and his girlfriend playing with her :)

Got to love a midwestern Fourth of July. Here's another family portrait taken by the cornfield, cause thats just classic Iowa for ya. We just left the DeWitt parade (where the whole time I was trying to get Jessica to nap in her sling- she took a five minute nap). Steve is wearing his swim trunks cause he's on his way to the Grand Mound parade/insane water fight. I went last year- way to intense to bring baby Jessica along this year! So i tried to get her to nap, and took a little cat nap myself ;)

I made my "famous" 4th of July crowns that I've been making with my preschoolers (and friends in college) for years, and finally brought the stuff to make some in Iowa. Course Jessica had to fit in, so I made her a mini one (she was wearing an adorable outfit that familiy friends Bobaleen brought, but I never got a picture of the skirt!)

My uncle joe loving the fat cheeks....

Here's all my cousins, and second cousins (and future babysitters of Jessica) that made the crowns. Jessica gets to hang with the big girls!
Her new obsession is with my water bottle (which i highly reccomend for any nursing mamas. I get so thirsty, but i'm sitting on the couch so i cna't bring a glass of water, or even a bottle that i need to screw the top off. so i got this camelbak water bottle and i love it so much i brought it to iowa with me!!

And a few pictures of her laughing. My brother and Steve were making her laugh and taking pictures, soooooooooooo cute!

seriously, can we say "scrapbook page?"
And some pictures from before iowa- her chillin in her carseat with the cheesy smile, wearing a hotdog on a stick hat, being cute, and in the sling at the padres game.

I have all sorts of new pictures to post- all kinds of new firsts. We've been introducing food, cause she's obviously been malnurish and needs a better source of calories ;) and she's starting to scoot, and it sitting all by herself now. Loves my baby girl, i do
So i'll post those soon!
Have a FABULOUS weekend!!!!!

can you believe she's

5 months old!!!

I know, insane I tell you. She's growing up way too fast!!!

At 5 months she..........

Has been on her first airplane trip (next blog!)

Has met a bazillion of her cousins (all second) by the dozens

Takes 3 naps per day- usually none longer than 45 minutes..........

But! Still goes to bed at 6pm. Doesn't eat till 5 am. Thats my little sleeper!

Over 16.5 pounds. Still a chunk!

Sitting for almost a minute at a time, longer if you position her just right

Starting to "scoot" Mostly around in a circle, but just started to go backwards

STILL NO TEETH!!!!!!! (seriously, its killing me. where are those damn thing?)

Babbling and talking lots- finally heard a "Da" Is daddy going to be her first word?

LOVES her excersauser. So determined to play with every little thing on there. And she's discovered jumping in it. Fun stuff!

Does what I like to call a "muppet" smile- SUPER wide mouth smile. As seen in the photo up above. so cute

Is starting to put her arms out when I come to pick her up. Awwwww

Loves her mama so much. She's starting to really care if I leave the room or not. I had to wait for Steve to finish mowing the lawn before I could use the restroom cause I didn't want her to cry!

I could go on and on. It seriously gets easier, and more fun, every single day. She's such a joy- a really happy baby. Sure, she doens't like to take long naps anymore (which is a serious bummer) but she's happy! She's starting to cuddle more and grabs faces and brings them close for sloppy, open mouth kisses :) So much fun

Sorry I've been so MIA. life has been insane!!! But Jessica is doing fabulosu. We just got back from a week in Iowa where Jessica met everyone and anyone I'm related to (well, almost). I'll post pictures from that soon.

Have a fabulous week!!!!!
